I wrestled for Atholton High School in Columbia, MD, from 1993-1995,
until I was injured. After my injury I stayed involved with the team
and while at the first invitational Hammond Tournament the head table
computer went down. The tournament operators asked for assistance
and I volunteered. With my help the delay was minimal and the tournament
was back running in short order. The tournament directors hired me
to run the tournament for the next eight years. I continued to run
tournaments while I went to college in Maryland, while in graduate
school in North Carolina and while serving in the National Guard.
In the past fourteen years I have run nearly 50 high school wrestling
tournaments ranging from 8-man to 64-man brackets. The largest of
these is a 30 team tournament called the Mount
Mat Madness tournament in Maryland, which brings in the top wrestlers
from MD, DE, PA, WV and VA.
Since 2003, my father has joined me in operating tournaments and together
we have made every tournament we have run a modern 21st century tournament.
After moving to Massachusetts in 2006, we have run the Carver, Middleboro,
and Marshfield Tournaments. We have been working with Sikora
Soft Systems since 2006 making tournament programs that take advantage
of today’s technology to make tournament events that everyone can
enjoy and experience. I write the web interface and a large portion
of other aspects for the software that we use. We are confident that
with all of our experience in tournament operations and the software
that we use, Kapwrestling can make your tournament the BEST run tournament
you have ever experienced.
